Kelsey DeRaffele Civetta
Licensed Master Social Worker
Meet Kelsey, LMSW
I believe therapy begins with connection. Consistency is important to me, and I show up each week ready to listen, engage, and support you. My approach is collaborative, drawing from Person-Centered, Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), and Compassion-Focused techniques while integrating other methods as appropriate to your needs. I guide sessions to focus on what matters most to you, helping steer the conversation so there’s no pressure. I don’t tell you what to do; instead, we explore and reflect together, helping you find your own answers and work toward long-term goals. With me, you enter a judgment-free space where therapy adapts to your style, whether through talking, reflecting, engaging in creative exercises such as art, journaling, or guided activities to explore feelings and experiences, or even movement—like walking while we talk.
I work with clients across the lifespan—school-aged children (6+), teens, and adults (18+). I specialize in supporting neurodivergent individuals, people with developmental and intellectual disabilities and learning differences, as well as their caregivers and siblings. I understand how challenging it can be for parents of children with disabilities, particularly as their children grow older, and I also recognize the unique experiences of siblings, who can often feel overlooked as the focus naturally goes to the child with additional needs. My goal is to provide a space where everyone in the family can feel heard, supported, and empowered.
I work with clients navigating anxiety, stress, behavioral challenges, identity and relationship concerns, including those related to sexual orientation or gender identity, depression, OCD, acute trauma/PTSD, grief, and major life transitions. While it’s important to work through challenges, I also emphasize recognizing strengths and progress. In every session, I help you notice these moments, reflect on your experiences, and gain insight that fosters resilience, confidence, self-compassion, coping skills, emotional regulation, and problem-solving.
